Sue Stice, a member of the Society has been tracing for more than 30 years the descendents of John Christie Giles who died in 1799 in Pittsylvania County. She has over 40,000 names of descendents in her data base. Hoping to publish a book on her findings, she is interested in obtaining old family photos and data on the more recent descendents. The book should be of great interest to a number of people in our area because descendents of John Christie Giles have been prominent in the history of Pittsylvania County for many years and many current residents of the County are related to him.
